British teen girl gets permission to marry at 16 years old

A British teen girl was overjoyed when she got permission to marry the love of her life at 16 years old.
The girl who suffers from cystic fibrosis, has been allowed to marry her young boyfriend after she expressed fear that she might not live much longer.
Iona Lindley said that she married her husband, Laurie Kesteven, 18, last year, because they were aware that she had a lower life expectancy because of her illness.
Lindley said that she felt comfortable with Kesteven, and she knew she wants to marry him. She also said that she does now allow herself to think about the future, and she only lives for the moment in order to enjoy life.
Despite being in love, the couple admitted to having to convince their families to let them tie the knot, which was difficult at first. When they finally convinced their families, the couple married at the South Parade Baptist Church in Leeds.
Lindley is telling her story because she wants to draw attention to cystic fibrosis as a disease.
